1 stick butter or margarine
1 small head of cabbage, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into round pieces
1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes or rotel tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to make it:

Melt butter in large skillet. Add cabbage, onion, and cook on medium high for about 5 minutes stirring to keep from sticking to pan. Add remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for 20 – 25 minutes.

Ridiculous amount of advertisements.

I agree, the amount of advertisements is very offputting. I will not be back.

This is great. But wasn't sure if I was supposed to drain the rotel first? I didn't. It was great!

Wanted to pin this recipe to Pinterest, but too many ads and recipe was broken up. Bummer. Now I will have to write the recipe down.

I don't think you would have to drain the rotel tomatoes.

People who are complaining about ads might consider getting some sort of ad blocker. I didn't see a single ad on this site. Delicious looking recipe.

Looks delicious. Will be making it tomorrow.

I made it tonight and I really enjoyed it. I used beef sausage and Rotel tomatoes. The only thing I added was a small dash of brown sugar. I always think it helps with cabbage and onions.

We made this tonight. It was excellent! We added some diced garlic too - even better!

I made it Added 1 bell Pepper I just like the taste of Bell pepper I also chop a small bunch of Green Onions up had them in the fridge for over a week & needed to use them up also added a half of Red onion also in the fridge for a while. It turned out great little spicy but that is good! ( I make a Tomato based soup with Habanero peppers)! So this was not very spicy to me. I Put some of what remained from my big bowl in the freeze for a later date and some in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. :)

I tried to cook this when I got home this evening (after picking up the cabbage and smoked sausage from a nearby grocery store) I did exactly as the recipe says but I added some soy sauce and a dash of cayenne pepper to give it a kick. I wasn't sure if the family will like it, since I have never cooked with cabbage before. I served it with cooked brown rice and everyone said "OMG!!!" It was soooo delicious!!! I'm so happy that everyone loved this dish. I think I ate too much, which is very unlikely, that I experienced a food coma after dinner. I will surely cook this again. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Ack, so many whiny people! I don't like ads, but they wouldn't keep me from coming back. Copying and pasting the recipe works for printing without having to write the recipe out. I plan to make it this week. Thank you for sharing!

I made this for my in laws and they loved it! Very pleased with this recipe I will make it again! Thank you
